Your Generator Needs

To determine whether a generator is appropriate for your needs, you should first add up the wattage of tools, appliances, and motors you want to run at the same time. Then select a generator with the running wattage rating to fit or exceed the complete load.

Keep planned that tools and appliances with electric motors require additional surge wattage at startup that may be exponentially increase the conventional running wattage requirement. Look on the surge watts required to make sure you select a generator with enough additional wattage to start them. (And remember you are typically not starting greater than half in the items with the same time.)

Your Generator Needs

To decide if a generator is suitable to your needs, you have to first add up the wattage of tools, appliances, and motors you want to run in the same time. Then go with a generator with all the running wattage rating to match or exceed the entire load.

Look in the surge watts required and make sure you choose a generator with enough additional wattage to start out them. Your Generator Needs

To decide if a generator is acceptable for the needs, you need to first add inside the wattage of tools, appliances, and motors you want to run with the same time. Then decide on a generator with all the running wattage rating to match or exceed the total load.

Keep at heart that tools and appliances with electric motors require additional surge wattage at startup that may be exponentially increase the standard running wattage requirement. Look at the surge watts required making sure you choose a generator with enough additional wattage to begin them. (And remember that you are typically not starting more than half in the items at the same time.)

Here's a sampling of power ratings for common household appliances.
